Why we built it

The math behind a financing round — SAFEs converting, option pools expanding, ownership diluting round over round — is where first-time founders get caught out. The people across the table have modelled it a hundred times; the founder is often seeing it for the first time, in the moment, with real stakes.

Promythia closes that gap. It turns cap table math into a guided flow that runs off your real ownership and explains every number in plain language — so the round holds no surprises.

What Promythia is — and isn’t

Promythia is a foresight and planning tool. It gives you market and strategy context to understand your raise. It is not legal, financial, tax, or accounting advice, and it doesn’t replace your own qualified advisors — it helps you arrive at those conversations prepared.

The name

Promythia takes its name from two Greek roots that both point at foresight. The first is Prometheus (Προμηθεύς), the Titan whose name means “forethought” — the one who saw what was coming before it arrived. The second is the promythion (προμύθιον), the lesson set at the very start of a fable, stated before the story unfolds rather than after it.

That is the whole idea behind the product: understand the outcome before you’re in the room, not after you’ve signed.
